SOME OF OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do wood pellets compare to oil heat?
Wood pellets provide the cleanest burn of any solid fuel. See the EPA website.
Wood pellets produce about 8250 BTUs per pound, or 16,500,000 BTUs per ton. #2 fuel oil produces about 138,500 BTUs per gallon. So, 16,500,000BTU/ton divided by 138,500BTU/gallon shows that 1 ton of wood pellets replaces 119.13 gallons of fuel oil.
